Physician - Neurologist

About the role

Ochsner Health seeks a dedicated Neurologist to join its clinical team in the Chalmette‑New Orleans region. The physician will uphold Ochsner’s core values of Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork and Excellence while delivering high‑quality neurological care.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, diagnose neurological conditions, and prescribe appropriate treatments and medications.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Order additional evaluations, make referrals, and ensure timely follow‑up care.
• Maintain accurate coding for all patient visits and comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and credentialing standards.

Required profile

• Board certified or board‑eligible in Neurology.
• Licensed MD/DO with active credentialing and willingness to maintain clinical practice.
• Commitment to professional standards, teamwork, and continuous compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ability to travel between facilities as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes.
