Physician - Gastroenterologist (Esophageal/Foregut Specialist)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to lead its esophageal disease program in New Orleans. This position focuses exclusively on esophageal and foregut disorders and offers the opportunity to shape a regional multidisciplinary program.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the esophageal disease program and collaborate with foregut surgery, thoracic surgery, otorhinolaryngology, and speech pathology specialists.
• Oversee an existing esophageal motility lab equipped with high‑resolution manometry, impedance, EndoFlip®, BRAVO® pH testing, and pH impedance testing.
• Develop and expand programs in Barrett’s esophagus and endobariatrics as desired.
• Participate in teaching activities for GI fellows and internal medicine residents.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Demonstrated expertise in esophageal and foregut disorders.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary clinical programs.

Required skills

• High‑resolution esophageal manometry with impedance.
• EndoFlip® technology.
• BRAVO® pH testing and pH impedance testing.
