About the role

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center seeks board‑certified/eligible Emergency Medicine physicians to join its expanding academic faculty. The role involves clinical care, education of residents, and development of specialty divisions.

Key responsibilities

Provide high‑quality emergency care in a tertiary referral center seeing 75,000+ visits per year.
Participate in residency education and mentorship of trainees.
Develop and lead niche areas such as Simulation, EMS, Ultrasound, Quality and Patient Safety, and Operations.

Required profile

American Board of Emergency Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine certified/eligible.
Fellowship‑trained or additional niche training preferred.
Passion for academic medicine and resident education.

Required skills

Simulation training expertise.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience.
Ultrasound proficiency.
Quality improvement and patient safety knowledge.
Operations management experience.
