Physician – Cognitive Neurologist

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board‑certified or eligible Cognitive Neurologist to join its multidisciplinary team in New Orleans. The physician will provide comprehensive neurological care, collaborate with interdisciplinary staff, and uphold Ochsner’s core values of Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork and Excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, diagnose neurological conditions, and prescribe appropriate medications and treatment plans.
• Document patient encounters promptly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and ensure accurate coding of all visits.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
• Order additional evaluations, make referrals, and coordinate follow‑up care as needed.
• Handle hazardous drugs and related materials in compliance with safety protocols.

Required profile

• Board certification or eligibility in the physician’s primary specialty.
• Active medical license (MD/DO) and credentialing with Ochsner.
• Commitment to professional standards, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement.
• Willingness to travel between Ochsner facilities as required.

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems.
