Physical Therapist – Inpatient Float Pool (PRN)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide inpatient therapy services on a PRN (as‑needed) basis. The role involves evaluating patients, delivering treatment programs based on physician orders, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team to achieve patient‑specific goals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Assess patient response to therapy and adjust the plan to improve outcomes and maintain safety.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with documentation standards.
• Ensure treatment protocols align with hospital quality and safety targets.
• Adapt communication and care approach to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.
• Minimum of 1 year of licensed Physical Therapy experience.
• Current Physical Therapy license in the state of practice or reciprocity.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong judgment, decision‑making, and interpersonal abilities.
• Willingness to travel between Ochsner facilities as needed.
