Physical Therapist Assistant - Weekend Per Diem

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant for weekend per diem shifts. The PTA works under the supervision of the Physical Therapist to carry out the physical therapy plan of care.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out the physical therapy plan of care as designed by the Physical Therapist
• Assist in supervising Rehab Aide personnel
• Communicate patient progress to the Physical Therapist regarding the plan of care
• Document patient care in line with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements
• Maintain equipment and the work area in a safe and clean condition
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program with an A.S. degree
• Licensed in the State of Florida to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• American Heart Association BLS certification for healthcare providers
• Willingness to wear protective equipment, as OSHA Category II tasks may involve exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials

The role also requires strong teamwork, communication and emotional intelligence, and the ability to stand or sit for 2 hours or more per day. Inpatient/sub-acute rehab staff must also be able to stand and walk intermittently for 4 hours or more per day and meet additional physical demands.
