Phlebotomy Technician – Night Shift

About the role

The Phlebotomy Technician works nights (10:00 pm–6:30 am) with on‑call duties at South Pointe Hospital, a Magnet‑recognized facility of the Cleveland Clinic Health System. The role focuses on accurate blood specimen collection and processing to support patient diagnosis and care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures, following proper protocols and maintaining log sheets.
• Verify orders, label specimens, and deliver them to the appropriate processing area.
• Handle specimen processing tasks such as accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging.
• Transport blood, other sample types, and laboratory supplies as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience as a Phlebotomy Technician.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform manual dexterity tasks.

Required skills

• Venipuncture techniques.
• Specimen labeling and handling.
• Accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging of lab samples.
• Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to standard precautions.
