About the role
The Phlebotomist at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital collects blood specimens, processes samples, and performs reference laboratory procedures for patients of all ages. The role supports patient comfort and contributes to high‑quality laboratory testing.
Key responsibilities
- Collect blood, perform venipuncture, and conduct related techniques such as glucose tolerance tests and blood cultures.
- Process and prepare specimens for testing, manage specimen data in the laboratory information system, and ship reference laboratory samples.
- Monitor test orders and requisitions to ensure compliance with outpatient laboratory testing standards.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience collecting blood from patients of all age groups.
Required skills
- Blood collection and venipuncture.
- Specimen processing and preparation.
- Use of laboratory information systems.
