Phlebotomist 2 – Full-time position in Plantation

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Phlebotomist 2 to join its UHealth Laboratories team in Plantation. The role involves drawing blood, verifying patient records, and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis while providing courteous patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient phlebotomy using the techniques outlined in the phlebotomy procedure manual.
• Process hematology and oncology specimens as priority cases.
• Accession, label, and organize specimens, ensuring accurate patient identification.
• Maintain inventory levels, rotate stock, and document supply usage.
• Answer questions about test requisitions, specimen requirements, and resolve related issues.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of relevant phlebotomy experience.
• Current certification in Phlebotomy.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly with patients and staff.

Required skills

• Phlebotomy certification and competency in venipuncture.
• Proficiency with office software and laboratory information systems such as UChart.
