Patient Access Representative 1 – On‑Site (Plantation, FL)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Clinical Access seeks a full‑time Patient Access Representative 1 to join the team at its Plantation location. In this on‑site role you will register patients for clinical services, verify insurance benefits and collect payments while ensuring a smooth front‑desk experience.

Key responsibilities

• Performs full registration and ensures insurance verification.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards, driver’s license, and any applicable referrals.
• Explains Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA to patients and obtains signed forms.
• Instructs patients to complete required questionnaires.
• Schedules follow‑up, cancels, edits appointments and records no‑show patients accurately.
• Reconciles vouchers and delivers them to the designated area.
• Answers telephone calls, responds to inquiries, and transfers calls when appropriate.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience.

• Accurate data entry with minimal errors.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Attention to detail and accurate completion of assignments.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
