About the role
The University of Miami’s Department of Development and Alumni Relations is seeking a full‑time Philanthropy Officer to support fundraising for the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Pediatric Surgery. This position works closely with the Sr. Director of Development and the medical development team to secure philanthropic gifts that advance the Miller School of Medicine.
Key responsibilities
- Identify prospective donors and funding sources in partnership with faculty, staff, and volunteers.
- Develop and execute cultivation and solicitation plans for identified prospects.
- Maintain regular communication and stewardship with donors, including acknowledgments, pledge tracking, and progress reporting.
- Assist donors and prospects with appointment scheduling and facilitation of clinical encounters.
- Coordinate with medical departments, other schools, and central development to ensure collaborative fundraising efforts.
Required profile
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and volunteers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on donor stewardship and relationship management.
