Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient (PRN)

About the role

The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician works on an as‑needed (PRN) basis at Indian River Hospital, providing medication preparation, distribution, and inventory support for the inpatient pharmacy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non‑sterile and sterile compounding.
• Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations promptly and accurately.
• Maintain accurate inventories, perform cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
• Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs and scheduled activities.
• Utilize pharmacy information systems and automation equipment to complete tasks.
• Assist in training pharmacy caregivers and students.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Licensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB (required within 18 months of hire).
• Ability to perform algebraic calculations for compound preparation.
• Basic computer skills and effective communication.
