Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient, PRN

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient, PRN supports inpatient pharmacy operations at Avon Hospital, a 126‑bed community hospital. The role ensures medications are prepared, distributed, and delivered safely across multiple patient care areas.

Key responsibilities

• Operate pharmacy automation systems, including medication carousel and Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
• Perform sterile compounding and refill automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare medication carts, repackage bulk medications, and manage inventory control.
• Triages medication requests, answer pharmacy phone calls, and deliver medications throughout the hospital.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA upon hire.
• Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified, Registered, or Trainee Pharmacy Technician.
• Flexibility to work varied PRN shifts, with availability for at least one weekday and one weekend shift per month.
