Pharmacy Technician - Full Time, Varied

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician. The technician works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists and provides hands-on support in compounding, distribution and dispensing of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a high level of assistance in compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations, and in the distribution and dispensing of medication and other pharmaceutical supplies.
• Help pharmacy managers design, coordinate and implement quality, cost-effective pharmacy technician services.
• Follow sterile compounding policies and regulations, and keep record-keeping and training documentation.
• Inspect assigned areas monthly for proper storage and labeling of medications and expired products, and complete inspection documentation.
• Work with pharmacists and technicians as a team, and help identify issues related to department budget and patient billing.
• Attend educational seminars and in-services, and keep up with unit-specific and organizational certifications and competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Florida Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician license.
• One year of hospital experience preferred; sterile and non-sterile compounding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of automated dispensing/storage technology preferred.
• Physical ability to sit for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs and carry up to 20 lbs, with manual dexterity for typing and data entry.
