Pharmacy Technician - Full Time

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician. The technician works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists, helping with compounding, distribution and dispensing of medications and pharmaceutical supplies, and supports pharmacy managers in delivering quality, cost-effective pharmacy services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-level assistance in compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations, and in the distribution and dispensing of medications and supplies.
• Help design, coordinate and implement pharmacy technician services.
• Follow sterile compounding policies and regulations, and keep record-keeping and training documentation.
• Inspect assigned areas monthly for proper storage and labeling of medications and expired products, and complete inspection documentation.
• Assist in researching problems related to department budget and patient billing.
• Attend educational seminars and in-services, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Florida Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician license.
• One year of hospital experience preferred; sterile and non-sterile compounding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of automated dispensing/storage technology preferred.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work, communicate orally and in writing, and handle difficult situations professionally.
• Must complete annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, including orientation, TB/PPD and surveillance program.
• Able to stand, sit and walk for long periods, lift up to 20 pounds and push or pull a 40-pound cart over long distances.
