Pharmacy Operations Coordinator Supervisor

About the role

The role performs all duties of a staff pharmacist while acting as the first‑line supervisor and primary resource for the pharmacy team. It monitors and coordinates daily clinical and distribution operations of both central and decentralized pharmacy services. The position also oversees pharmacy students and technicians in the absence of a tech lead.

Key responsibilities

• Performs all duties of a staff pharmacist.
• Coordinates pharmacy services and daily operations.
• Supervises, trains and develops department staff.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
• Maintains systems for controlling, procuring, and distributing controlled substances.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (required); Doctor of Pharmacy (preferred).
• Current pharmacy license in the state of practice.
• At least 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Experience setting priorities, making critical decisions, responding to emergencies, operating automated pharmacy systems, and evaluating medical literature.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard data entry.
• Experience using automated pharmacy systems.
• Computer skills for retrieving and entering patient information.
