Pharmacy Intern - Outpatient (PRN)

About the role

The Pharmacy Intern – Outpatient, PRN supports a high‑volume ambulatory pharmacy serving about 400 prescriptions per day. The position rotates through multiple work areas, providing a comprehensive outpatient pharmacy experience.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess medication orders to identify and resolve drug‑related issues.
• Assist with prescription typing, filling, and inventory management.
• Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Communicate with physicians and clinicians to facilitate patient care.
• Participate in clinical activities such as prescription transfers, patient counseling, medication therapy management, and immunizations.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy program and eligible for an Ohio intern license, or hold an international pharmacy qualification meeting Ohio requirements.
• Current State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT) before start date.
• Ability to work variable day and evening shifts, full‑time during summer and as able during the school year.
• Physical ability to stand, reach, stretch, and sit for prolonged periods with manual dexterity.
