Advanced Practice Provider – Primary Care Developmental Specialist

About the role

The Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) will deliver primary and specialty care to children and families, focusing on those with developmental needs. This nationally certified clinician works within a multidisciplinary team to promote health, prevent disease, and manage acute and chronic conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Interpret laboratory, radiology, and cardiographic results to develop diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Prescribe and monitor medications in accordance with state licensure and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educate patients and families about diseases, treatments, and medication side effects.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other team members during rounds and care coordination.
• Participate in quality monitoring, discharge planning, and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• PNP or PA with primary care experience.
• Experience caring for patients with developmental delays or special needs.
• Proven ability to develop and implement clinical projects and innovative initiatives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Strong commitment to patient‑ and family‑centered care.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (if applicable).
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
