About the role

The Pharmacy Intern will join the Inpatient Pharmacy at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, gaining hands‑on experience with medication order review, compounding, and patient education. This full‑time summer position and part‑time school‑year rotation provides direct interaction with clinicians and patients.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve drug‑related issues.
  • Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
  • Compound and prepare medications for delivery to patient care areas.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
  • Communicate with physicians and other clinicians to facilitate care.

Required profile

  • Current enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy meeting Ohio Intern License requirements (or equivalent foreign graduate license).
  • Possession of a valid State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT) before hire.
  • Eligibility to participate in a three‑summer pharmacy internship program.
