Pharmacy Intern – Customer Service & Clinical Support

About the role

Join Meijer as a Pharmacy Intern in Bad Axe, Michigan, where you will support customers and assist pharmacists with prescription processing, inventory management, and clinical services. This onsite position offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced retail pharmacy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑person and telephone customer service, helping patients select products and obtain medication pricing.
• Process and fill prescriptions using the pharmacy computer system, including data entry, third‑party adjudication, counting, labeling, and handling Will Call sales.
• Manage inventory by updating balance on hand, ordering products, checking in shipments, and processing vendor charge‑backs.
• Assist with clinical services such as health screenings, immunizations, and medication therapy management under pharmacist supervision.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school with a state‑specific Pharmacy Intern License.
• Positive attitude, excellent communication, and strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Professional appearance, dependability, and a commitment to patient confidentiality.
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations and understand medication terminology.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems for prescription entry and third‑party adjudication.
• Knowledge of MP6 pharmacy software.
• Ability to conduct pharmaceutical calculations.
