Pharmacy Clinical Specialist – Internal Medicine

About the role

The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist – Internal Medicine provides decentralized pharmacy support to Internal Medicine services at South Pointe Hospital, participating in multidisciplinary rounds and delivering evidence‑based medication recommendations to ensure safe, effective patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide pharmaceutical care for internal medicine patients.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary patient care rounds, offering evidence‑based medication recommendations.
• Perform pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and provide drug information to the care team.
• Educate pharmacists, technicians, students, nurses and physicians on pharmacotherapy.

Required profile

• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligibility for reciprocity within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of a PGY‑1 residency plus two years clinical specialist experience, or equivalent residency/fellowship qualifications.
• Current BLS certification and immunization training; ACLS or PALS certification within required timeframe.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Immunization administration competency.
