Pharmacy Clinical Specialist – BMT/Leukemia

About the role

The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist supports oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. The role participates in interdisciplinary rounds, leads chemotherapy decision‑making, and ensures safe transitions of care.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds and lead chemotherapy‑related order verification.
• Manage discharge and consult services, coordinating with inpatient, outpatient, and specialty pharmacy teams.
• Perform proactive chart review, prepare complex chemotherapy regimens, and provide patient education.
• Precept learners, conduct research, and contribute to the oncology program.

Required profile

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (or eligible for reciprocity within 90 days).
• Completion of a PGY2 residency or PGY1 plus two years of clinical specialist experience, or four years of equivalent experience.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or PALS certification as required.

Required skills

• Chemotherapy regimen preparation and verification.
• Pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and medication management.
• Beacon order verification.
• Use of clinical pharmacy information systems.
