Pharmacist Resident - Residency Program

About the role

This 52‑week post‑graduate residency provides intensive, hands‑on training under the guidance of experienced pharmacy preceptors. You will develop into an advanced pharmacy clinician who ensures safe, effective, and cost‑efficient medication therapy for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Apply OneCHRISTUS competencies (Leader of Self, Leader of Others, Leader of Leaders) in daily practice.
• Manage and improve the medication use process across acute‑care settings.
• Deliver evidence‑based, patient‑centered medication therapy management within interdisciplinary teams.
• Lead change initiatives in pharmacy clinical and operational areas.
• Provide education on medication, therapeutics, and pharmacy practice.
• Utilize CHRISTUS medical informatics tools to support clinical decisions.
• Perform duties outlined in the Clinical Pharmacist I job description.

Required profile

• Graduated from an ACPE‑accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program.
• No prior experience required.
• Eligible for pharmacist licensure within 90 days of start date (or approved extension).
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required; PALS if working in pediatric practice.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (if applicable).
• Proficiency with pharmacy/medical informatics tools.
