PET/CT Technologist (Full Time) - Day Shift

About the role

Fort Wayne Medical Oncology and Hematology is hiring a full-time PET/CT Technologist II (PET Tech) in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The position reports directly to the Radiology Team Lead and offers a day shift Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The pay range is $36.54 to $53.52.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders, administer radiopharmaceuticals and/or contrast materials, and prepare and operate PET/CT scanners to obtain quality diagnostic images following written prescriptions and standard operating procedures.
• Identify the correct patient, escort patients to the scan room, position them on the scanner table, acquire images and assist patients out of the room.
• Explain the scan procedure and its risks to patients and families, observe reactions to injections and document everything in the patient's electronic medical record.
• Perform and document daily and weekly quality assurance checklists for PET/CT equipment and the hot lab, and participate in quality improvement programs.
• Coordinate patient schedules, assist with chart reviews, supply ordering and Superbill charge submissions, and guide PET/CT Technologist I when the Team Lead is absent.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine technology program or similar; a BS degree in nuclear medicine or a related field is preferred.
• Certified as a Registered Nuclear Medicine or PET Technologist (NMTCB or ARRT); dual certification as a radiographer or CT technologist is preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification and fluency in English; Spanish is desirable.
• At least three years of active experience as a PET/CT Technologist.
• State license where required by locality.

Required skills

• Effective communication with patients and staff.
