Personal Banker

About the role

A credit union in Altamonte Springs, Florida, is hiring a full-time Personal Banker on a day shift. The role covers member service, account management, product promotion and loan processing, with a proven sales track record.

Key responsibilities

• Review reports, prepare correspondence and take part in special department projects
• Maintain customer and potential customer databases and follow up on initial contacts
• Respond to member inquiries by phone and electronically, and greet members cheerfully
• Open new accounts, update member information and resolve account issues such as fee reversals, posting errors and payroll deduction changes
• Troubleshoot credit card problems and process loan applications, interviews, disbursements and follow-ups
• Promote marketing campaigns, cross-sell credit union products and identify sales opportunities

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in a call center or customer service environment
• 2+ years of experience in consumer lending
• Proven track record in sales
• Preferred: banking and/or credit union experience
• Preferred: high school graduate or equivalent

Required skills

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective written and oral communication, problem-solving and teamwork
• Use of product knowledge and sales techniques to build customer relationships
• Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance
• Computer literacy, data entry and typing of at least 20 words per minute
