Per Diem Medical Technologist - Varied

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a per diem medical technologist for varied shifts. The position works with department leadership to support the department's needs and performs, interprets and reports clinical laboratory diagnostic tests on blood and body fluids.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain competency in licensed areas and perform testing as needed
• Run quality control and calibrations, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of analyzers and equipment
• Evaluate, implement and validate new equipment and techniques
• Assist in orienting and training new team members
• Maintain laboratory supply and reagent inventory and place orders
• Review pending logs and resolve outstanding workload, communicating findings to the next shift
• Keep professional knowledge current through workshops and publications, and act as a resource for other departments
• Follow infection-control, hazardous waste and confidentiality policies

Required profile

• Licensed as a medical technologist in Florida
• Education: AA/AS or BS preferred
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work long periods standing, sitting or walking
• Annual Joint Commission education, TB/PPD surveillance and license renewal
