People Relations Consultant

About the role

The People Relations team partners closely with leaders and employees to drive consistent, thoughtful approaches to performance improvement, workplace concerns, and key moments across the employee experience. This role blends hands‑on case support with proactive coaching to build a culture of trust, accountability, and informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on performance improvement, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution.
• Guide leaders through performance conversations, written feedback, and improvement plans.
• Conduct and lead employee‑relations investigations, including high‑risk and sensitive matters, ensuring fair, impartial, and well‑documented outcomes.
• Provide in‑the‑moment coaching to leaders to build capability in managing employee situations.
• Assess risk, recommend actions to business leadership, and partner with Legal and People Enablement as needed.
• Maintain clear case documentation, timelines, and recommended actions.
• Deliver regular reporting and insights on case activity, using data to inform proactive solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Employee Relations, Performance Coaching, or HR Business Partner roles.
• Proven ability to manage performance improvement and employee‑relations matters from intake through resolution.
• Experience influencing and coaching leaders at various levels with a practical, approachable style.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, translating complex situations into clear documentation.
• Sound judgment, discretion with confidential matters, and ability to navigate competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
