Pediatric Visiting Professor (Clinical Instructor)

About the role

Chamberlain College of Nursing, part of Covista, is looking for a part-time Clinical Instructor (Pediatric Visiting Professor) to join its faculty and support students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The course focuses on family-centered care of children, covering normal child care and health changes from infancy through adolescence, with students working as members of a multidisciplinary health team.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor students in a clinical setting as they demonstrate nursing skills and procedures
• Implement the college's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through clinical teaching
• Plan clinical experiences and supervise and evaluate nursing students providing care to individuals or groups
• Evaluate student performance against course objectives and give documented feedback
• Remediate students as needed and orient them to agency/clinical policies and procedures
• Develop and post written clinical assignments and grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab work and clinical paperwork
• Teach didactic content under the supervision of the course coordinator and report student and agency issues to the course coordinator

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing
• At least 2 years of recent nursing practice as a registered nurse
• Professional nurse licensure in the state of practice
• Excellent communication skills, initiative and prudent judgment
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required for some clinical partner sites

What we offer

• Pay of $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience; actual pay may vary with course, location, licensure and other factors
