Maternal Child Visiting Professor (Part-Time)

About the role

Chamberlain University, part of Covista, is seeking a part-time Maternal Child Visiting Professor to join its faculty and support students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The course covers family-centered approaches to maternal and newborn care, including the childbearing cycle, normal experience, high-risk factors, complications and alterations, plus additional women's health issues. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at some clinical partner sites.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
• Evaluate students and give documented feedback on their performance against course objectives, and offer remediation when needed.
• Keep current on agency and clinical policies and procedures with the help of clinical personnel.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments suited to each student's knowledge and learning needs.
• Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments and clinical paperwork in a timely way.
• Teach didactic content under the supervision of the course coordinator, and report student and agency issues to the course coordinator.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing (required).
• At least 2 years of recent nursing practice as a registered nurse within the last five years (required).
• Professional Nurse licensure in the state of practice (required).
• Excellent communication skills, initiative and prudent judgment.

What we offer

• Pay of $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience; actual pay may vary with course type, experience, location, licensure and other factors.
