Pediatric Obesity Specialist – CA License

About the role

Clarity Pediatrics is expanding its virtual care platform to address pediatric obesity and overweight management. We are looking for a passionate pediatrician licensed in California to join a multi‑disciplinary team and deliver family‑based behavioral therapy and individualized medical management for children and teens aged 5‑17.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 60‑minute virtual intake appointments to screen for obesity/overweight and create personalized treatment plans.
• Provide comprehensive clinical services, including medication management (e.g., GLP‑1s) and ordering/interpreting diagnostic labs.
• Lead “Positive Parenting for Healthy Weight” shared medical appointment groups.
• Collaborate with behavioral health colleagues and refer to additional services as needed.
• Run 30‑minute virtual follow‑up visits to monitor progress and adjust plans.
• Complete clinical documentation, prior authorizations, and care‑coordination tasks accurately and promptly.

Required profile

• Active California medical license with DEA registration.
• Board certified in Pediatrics (board certification in Obesity Medicine preferred).
• Minimum five years of patient‑care experience, with a strong interest in lifestyle medicine, nutrition coaching, and physical activity.
• Proven ability to work with diverse families and deliver culturally responsive care.
• Enthusiasm for a fast‑growing startup and willingness to help iterate new care models.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Comfort using telemedicine platforms to deliver virtual care.

What we offer

• Target salary range of $220,000‑$245,000 per year.
