Payroll Specialist II

About the role

Asure Software, a provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) software and services, is hiring a Payroll Specialist II for an on-site position in Cherry Hill, NJ. The specialist serves small business clients, acting as the face of payroll and delivering expert processing and services. The role covers weekly, semi-monthly and custom calendar payrolls.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain employee payroll records and own the activities needed for quality processing.
• Process weekly, semi-monthly and custom calendar payrolls.
• Calculate paychecks using tax tables.
• Inspect automated system outputs such as registers and standard reports, and determine and correct out-of-balance conditions.
• Audit timekeeping records for compliance and validate time and attendance records from the TLM system against payroll.
• Enter new hires into Payroll Central and post changes in pay and tax status.
• Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.
• Prepare special reports for management.

Required profile

• 3-5+ years of experience with automated payroll systems or equivalent accounting experience.
• Previous payroll experience in a client-facing environment and previous customer service experience.
• Direct experience with a variety of SaaS payroll systems and the ability to learn new ones.
• Ability to deliver under tight deadlines or in unusual or critical situations.
• Clear, professional written communication for client success.
• In-house payroll processing experience in a small to mid-sized business is highly preferred but not required.

Required skills

• Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• SaaS payroll systems.
