Payroll Processing Analyst

About the role

The Payroll Processing Analyst supports daily payroll operations, acting as a first‑level processor to execute payroll transactions, validate data and ensure compliance with established procedures. Reporting to the Payroll Processing and Integrations Manager, the role works closely with HR and third‑party providers to deliver accurate and timely payroll services.

Key responsibilities

• Act as first‑level liaison between Applied and the third‑party payroll provider, handling day‑to‑day processing and off‑cycle payrolls.
• Collaborate with HR to coordinate pay, deductions, and benefits information for accurate payroll production, tracking and reporting.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and internal controls.
• Lead or support cross‑functional projects with internal and external partners to improve payroll efficiency.
• Identify improvement opportunities, design requirements and implement solutions for continuous payroll process enhancement.
• Educate staff and business partners on payroll policies, generate queries/reports, and support SOX controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of payroll experience in a complex, multi‑state organization, including processing, tax, timekeeping, garnishments and reporting.
• Experience with Workday Payroll Management System preferred.
• Strong analytical abilities and proven ability to build effective relationships across the company and with third‑party providers.
