Patient Transport Coordinator

About the role

The Patient Transport Coordinator oversees patient transportation services and equipment using logistics and dispatch software. This full‑time night‑shift position ensures timely, safe moves while maintaining high satisfaction for patients, customers, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare work schedules, assign tasks to transporters and equipment partners, and adjust staffing based on department needs.
• Generate daily reports for transport and bed‑cleaning management and track volume data.
• Coordinate with multiple agencies and departments to ensure efficient patient movement.
• Assist in developing policies, training staff, and maintaining professional office practices.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with ability to work under pressure and provide excellent customer service.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and Basic Life Support certification.
• Physical ability to lift/carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform patient‑care activities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer‑assisted dispatching software and computer‑based radios.
• Ability to interpret data from software reports.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic life support procedures.
