Patient Transport Aide (PRN)

About the role

AdventHealth Littleton is hiring a Patient Transport Aide on a PRN basis, working 24-hour shifts. The aide transports patients between departments and out of the hospital, and helps with supplies, equipment and patient belongings.

Key responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and on time between departments and upon discharge
• Deliver and pick up supplies, records, specimens, x-rays, orders and equipment
• Respond promptly to stat calls and meet requests from clinical staff
• Assist with calls involving violent patients and support take-down procedures
• Stay available and help reduce heavy transitional workloads
• Inform patients of relevant procedures and accompany them
• Transport patient valuables and belongings
• Stock items and report mechanical malfunctions to staff
• Maintain stretchers and wheelchairs in patient-ready condition and manage oxygen tanks safely
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous experience as a nurse assistant preferred
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required

Required skills

• Organizational, interpersonal and customer relations skills
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal directions
• Manual keyboarding and computer literacy
• Understanding of English
