Patient Registration Representative - Part Time

About the role

R1 RCM is recruiting a Patient Access Representative (listed as Patient Registration Representative) for the Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Women's Diagnostic Center in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The role is onsite, part time, Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, and is the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care. No healthcare background is needed, as training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process and register patients efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable
• Minimize delays in registration and answer questions with confidence, clarity and compassion
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Customer service experience, communication and interpersonal skills, and composure in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and shift priorities based on patient needs
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required
