Patient Registration Representative - Part-Time

About the role

R1 RCM is recruiting a Patient Access Representative (Patient Registration Representative) for the onsite part-time shift at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast in Miramar Beach, Florida. The role is the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care. It is described as a frontline healthcare customer service position, and training is provided even with no healthcare background.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process and register patients efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Minimize delays in registration so timely access to care is supported
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required
