Patient Payment Collector

About the role

The Patient Payment Collector works within the Revenue Cycle Management department to identify, track, and collect patient financial responsibilities. This role collaborates with the Lead Patient Collector, clinic staff, and patients to ensure balances are communicated and resolved promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and account information to verify patient financial responsibility and update billing systems.
• Contact patients and responsible parties to explain balances, collect payments, and arrange payment plans.
• Coordinate with front‑desk and administrative staff at behavioral health clinics to facilitate on‑site collections and communicate outstanding balances.
• Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity, track account worklists, and report on collection outcomes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare billing, patient collections, or revenue cycle management.
• Familiarity with EOBs, insurance benefits, deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (2+ years).
• Microsoft Outlook (2+ years).
