Patient Mobility Technician – PRN Days – Jefferson Hwy

About the role

The Patient Mobility Technician supports patients with general mobility tasks as directed by clinical staff. This PRN, day‑shift position works on the Jefferson Hwy campus of Ochsner Health, helping patients move safely and participate in therapy activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, bed positioning, and use of lifts according to the Progressive Mobility Protocol.
• Gather and document patient information in EPIC before treatment sessions and maintain accurate records of mobility activities.
• Inspect, clean, disinfect, and maintain mobility equipment, ensuring supplies are stocked.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and physicians to communicate patient responses and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of patient care or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work as a team member, follow infection‑control and safety protocols, and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Knowledge of the Progressive Mobility Protocol and documentation in EPIC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
