Patient Care Technician - Regional Float Pool (Days and Nights)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring Patient Care Technicians for its regional float pool, with day and night shifts available. Positions are full-time or part-time, and sign-on bonus eligibility applies. The role works under the direction of a registered nurse and covers patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity and culture.

Key responsibilities

• Perform treatments according to policy and procedure, and function appropriately in clinical emergencies
• Follow isolation guidelines, use protective equipment correctly, perform handwashing and enforce safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the healthcare team, and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Assist in delivering patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse
• Document and report procedures, help obtain a nursing history and report abnormalities to the registered nurse
• Participate in practice changes and quality improvement activities, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent (required)
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification (required)
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) (required)
• 1+ years of applicable PCT experience preferred
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician or equivalent medical experience preferred
