Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) – Float Pool

About the role

The Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) works in the Float Pool at Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital, providing flexible support across multiple units and specialties. This position offers a day/night rotation and the chance to gain broad clinical experience in a Magnet‑recognized facility.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care, activities of daily living, and transfers under RN supervision.
• Perform vital signs, weight checks, pulse oximetry, point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, and apply/remove monitoring devices.
• Report abnormal findings to the RN and help maintain clean, orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain during hire period).
• Eligibility for nursing students with at least one clinical rotation or relevant military medical experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) credential (preferred).
