Patient Care Nurse Assistant

About the role

The Patient Care Nurse Assistant provides direct care to behavioral health patients under the supervision of an LPN/RN at Indian River Hospital. The role involves facilitating therapeutic groups, monitoring mental status, and maintaining accurate patient documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Direct patient care for behavioral health patients under RN/LPN supervision.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and assess patients' mental status.
• Maintain and document patient charts and treatment interventions.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) preparation.
• Secure patient belongings, perform routine procedures, and ensure patient safety through rounds and searches.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (associate or bachelor's degree in behavioral health preferred).
• Two years of experience in behavioral health or related field.
• Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training within 14 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Required skills
