About the role

The Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) works on the 24‑bed Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, providing night‑time support for post‑open heart, surgical and ventricular assist device patients. This position offers a pathway to advance nursing skills and pursue further education within a world‑class health system.

Key responsibilities

Assist patients with vital signs, weight, personal care, activities of daily living and transfers.
Perform point‑of‑care testing, pulse oximetry, dressing changes, apply external monitoring devices and remove urinary catheters.
Report abnormal findings to the supervising RN and maintain a clean, orderly patient environment.

Required profile

High School Diploma or GED.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain during new‑hire period).
Ability to read at an eighth‑grade level and perform basic mathematics.
Physical ability to lift/move patients and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification (preferred).
