Patient Care Aide – Environmental Services

About the role

The Aide works in the Environmental Services department of Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital, providing housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, attractive, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping, spot cleaning, polishing, and vacuuming in patient rooms, utility rooms, nurse stations, isolation rooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, exam rooms, and offices.
• Empty, clean, and reline waste baskets; replenish room supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, seat covers, hand soap).
• Transport trash from utility rooms to collection points and assist with emergency cleaning situations.
• Maintain furniture arrangement in patient rooms, offices, and lounges.
• Follow proper chemical usage, dilution, and safety procedures.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous healthcare or cleaning experience preferred.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift items up to 100 lb and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to follow policies, attend in‑services, and work the scheduled shift (7:00 am‑3:30 pm).

Required skills

• Understanding of proper cleaning chemical handling and equipment operation.
