Patient Access Representative - AGP

About the role

The Patient Access Representative works in the Emergency Department of Stow Health and Wellness, delivering an exceptional experience to patients, families, and visitors from arrival through discharge. The role involves registration, insurance verification, co‑payment collection, self‑screening, and scheduling services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient registration, capturing demographics, insurance, medical and financial information.
• Collect co‑payments and process cash transactions using Epic.
• Cross‑train across front‑desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register functions.
• Act as a Super User, training new caregivers and providing support.
• Attend a mandatory 2‑week Epic training program before starting the shift schedule.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with two years of customer‑facing experience, or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders.
• Ability to work confidently in an emergency department setting and handle physical demands such as standing for extended periods and moving up to 25 lb.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems.
