Certified Athletic Trainer for Kent State Hockey

About the role

The Certified Athletic Trainer will support Kent State University’s Division I hockey program, providing comprehensive medical care to student‑athletes. You will work within Cleveland Clinic’s Sports Medicine team, participating in clinical rotations and early‑career development programs.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, manage, and rehabilitate injuries for professional, amateur and recreational athletes.
• Develop and implement injury‑prevention and conditioning programs.
• Maintain medical records, act as liaison between physicians and athletes, and coordinate referrals when needed.
• Provide on‑site emergency care, acute treatment, and chronic case management during games, practices and travel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and completion of an accredited athletic training program.
• Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) from the National Athletic Trainers Board of Certification.
• State licensure as an Athletic Trainer where required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
