Patient Access Representative 2 – On‑Site

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Patient Access Representative 2 to join its front‑line team at the Lennar location. In this on‑site position you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance for clinical services.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information for patient accounts.
• Contact patients’ families or physicians’ offices to gather missing insurance details.
• Verify insurance eligibility and notify patients and referring physicians of any issues.
• Collaborate with scheduling departments to identify add‑on patients.
• Secure necessary authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals.
• Inform patients of financial liabilities and collect payments.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system of record.
• Follow university policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
• Strong data‑entry skills with minimal errors.
• Effective oral and written communication abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
