Part‑Time Visitor Information Specialist (Valdosta, GA)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Visitor Information Specialist to join the Georgia Visitor Information Center in Valdosta. You will be the first point of contact for tourists, offering friendly advice and assistance to help them enjoy their stay in Georgia.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors and provide up‑to‑date information on events, attractions and services across the state.
• Assist travelers in planning routes, locating lodging, and finding mechanical, medical or other essential services.
• Handle and distribute tourism brochures, maps and promotional materials.
• Move boxes weighing up to 25 lb and stand for extended periods while assisting guests.
• Work flexible shifts, typically 1‑2 days per week, including weekends and weekdays as needed.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lb and remain on your feet for long periods.
• Availability on weekends and most weekdays; flexible schedule preferred.
• Interest in Georgia’s tourism offerings and a desire to share local knowledge.
