About the role
The Department of Teaching & Learning at the University of Miami is hiring part‑time lecturers for the upcoming academic year. Lecturers will teach courses across the ASL minor, teacher preparation programs, and the Applied Learning Sciences online program.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the ASL minor, teacher preparation, and applied learning sciences.
- Deliver instruction in‑person for ASL and teacher preparation courses and online for applied learning sciences courses.
- Develop and update course materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Required profile
- Terminal degree in Teaching and Learning, Education, Learning Sciences, Instructional Technology, Speech‑Language Pathology, Deaf Education, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluency in American Sign Language for ASL courses.
- Active involvement in the Deaf community and awareness of Deaf culture (for ASL instruction).
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, preferably in higher education.
