Part‑Time Lecturer in Applied Bioinformatics

About the role

We invite applications for a part‑time lecturer position at the graduate level to teach Applied Bioinformatics for the Cell and Gene Therapy Master’s Programs. The role involves delivering lectures, demonstrations, and hands‑on exercises on bioinformatics analysis of genomic and sequencing data.

Key responsibilities

• Review and learn teaching points from existing instructor guides and materials.
• Prepare and deliver lectures, demonstrations, and hands‑on exercises, either in‑person or online.
• Facilitate class discussions that encourage active learning and respectful debate.
• Guide students through bioinformatics analyses related to genetic modification and therapeutic genome editing, including sequencing data interpretation and computational workflows.
• Provide timely feedback, grading, and coaching to support student learning.
• Maintain consistent engagement with students regarding performance and progress.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in bioinformatics, preferably in a therapeutic or research setting.
• Demonstrated experience teaching or supporting graduate‑level courses in bioinformatics or genomic data analysis.
• Strong communication skills and an open, supportive teaching style.

Required skills

• Experience with NGS pipelines.
• RNA‑seq analysis.
• Variant calling workflows.
