About the role
The American Sign Language Program at Northeastern University seeks part‑time lecturers to teach undergraduate courses in ASL, deaf culture, history, literature, and linguistics. Positions are filled throughout the year based on enrollment and departmental need.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses such as American Sign Language, deaf culture, history, literature, and linguistics.
- Develop course materials and assessments aligned with program standards.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
- Fluency in American Sign Language required; ASLTA or RID certification strongly preferred.
- Three to five years of teaching or interpreting experience in ASL preferred.
- Cross‑cultural understanding and excellent communication skills.
